About Me

My name is Joshua Brookover, and I’m a programmer!

I’ve been programming for about five years now with a primary focus in C++ and C# programming.  I’ve dabbled in many other languages including Java, JavaScript, PHP and Lua.  I like to work behind the scenes leaving the design to someone else, meaning I focus on efficiency and cleanliness in all my programming endeavors.  For the most part, I work with games; I have experience with physics, artificial intelligence and networking, primarily.

I am currently attending DeVry University in Irving, TX for a Game and Simulation Programming Bachelor’s Degree.  Right now I’m a junior with a GPA just over 3.8.  I’m also employed at DeVry University as a tutor and faculty assistant.  At my work I will most often be tutoring someone for hour sessions, but I also handle Accuplacer for new students and act as the faculty assistant in courses (mostly introductory C++ courses).

Some other (less notable) skills:

I have basic knowledge of designing websites in HTML/CSS.

I have experience with: OpenGL, WinSock 2.2, DirectX, .NET, XNA.

I have excellent knowledge and understanding of GameMaker.

I compose music as a hobby.
